Monday (August 2)- On this fine day, I took Ricky’s bike to work because, as mentioned before, everybody can pay rent late Except for me. I grabbed my sandwich and ate it on my way to the bank. I successfully withdrew the money - hoorah. I was going to go straight back to work because I was angry that my roommates asked me to spend my lunch break at the bank, but I decided to not stoop that low. I ran into the house, and I handed Lauren the money. I WAS angry enough, though, to take Ricky’s bike back to work to lessen the amount of time I was on break. After work, I went food shopping. For dinner, I made a grilled tuna and cheese sandwich. I purchased veggies (broccoli and green peppers) from the store, so I cut them up for easy access (since I’d been eating like a fat kid recently). I was in my room reading when I got a text from Glee asking if I was asleep. It also said, “we’re in the living room.” I didn’t know who “we” were, so I went to investigate. Glee’s 16 year old son was here for a visit! He smokes weed, didn’t talk much, and is as useless as the rest of them. What a pleasure meeting him. Lauren was high and had the munchies earlier, so she made cupcakes. They were on the living room table, so I grabbed one and ate it before going to bed. So much for those fresh veggies I cut up. >.<
Tuesday (August 3)- Work went well-ish. It’s official, though…Leslie’s definitely crazy. The way we sow seeds requires us to mix the seed with an amount of sand, and the sand/seed mix is dropped onto the dirt. With calculations, Laslie figures out how much sand we’ll need to mix with the seed to produce a certain number of trays. Most of the time, the equation SUCKS and we end up with extra or not enough of the mix. That had been happening a lot recently, so when she gave us the seed to mix with the sand she left us a lovely little note -“21L No more No less”. Normally it just reads “21L” to indicate we need to mix 21L of sand with the seed. She must think that sometimes, for shits and giggles, we use more or less than what is written. Because, y’know, that makes sense (!!??!!). The restoration girls were with us that day, and we all had a good laugh at Leslie’s ridiculousness. When I had a bit of time, I took pics of my dead/dying project. :-[ I just want to prove to the people at EC that we don’t need to grow everything from seed - especially when it has a germination rate of, like, 2%! Argh!
When I got home, I learned that Ash and Tyler will be staying 1 month before moving out. Considering that was the 3rd of the month, it reminded me that I only had 1 more month of work at EC! Later in the evening, I met Lauren’s cousin, Donny, who just got out of jail. He’ll be living here now. Probably rent-free. >.<
Wed (August 4)- When I got to work, the door was not yet open. Lilly showed up soon after me, and went to the back door. There’s a piece of wood propped against the door to prevent it from opening, but somehow she learned along the way that if you pull hard enough, it’ll open! So, we swiped in. By the time we were walking out the front door, Tony was unlocking the front. He didn’t question anything, though. That day, I saw Matt at work and he invited me to the Kent Narrows Boat Races. I told him that (of course!) I’d like to go! That night when I got home, I jogged right away and showered. I walked to Jesse’s where Matt and PT met up with us to go to the St. Michaels carnival. Matt left because it was too hot and PT talked to other people, so it was pretty much me and Jesse. That night, when I went back to Jesse’s, we looked at ancient pics of everyone in his yearbook - SO FUNNY! Sharon called, and I talked to her a bunch while I ate my caramel apple. I finally headed home, despite Ruger’s adorable attempt to prevent me from leaving. I went straight to my room, but learned that my roommates rolled while I was asleep that night.
