I bought an exercise bike

Mind you, I have no idea where I'm going to put it when it arrives next week. Some creative furniture rearrangement is going to have to happen in my front room, I think, since although this is the most petite model I could find it's still a big hunk of metal to have lying around a one-bedroom flat with microscopic rooms. But ah well. I need to get more exercise, and using a road bike on the busy streets in my area is not for the faint hearted. And I resent the time it takes to get to the gym and back, plus the mind-numbing boringness of working on the machines when you have no interest in whatever TV they've got up on their screens and don't have an iPod or the organisation to put a music collection onto one anyway.

So, the plan is: put exercise bike in front of TV. Pop DVD in machine... it's not like I'm going to run out of things to watch. Start programme off, watch and pedal. Obviously I get a better workout if I'm watching a 50 minute show (e.g. Highlander) rather than a 42 minute one (e.g. Voyager seasons six and seven - which are the seasons I'm least likely to want to revisit in any case). But hey, I can mix it up. And I can try to get fitter and clear my DVD watching backlog simultaneously.

*fingers crossed* But it's something that I've been contemplating for some time, and I've finally gone ahead and bitten the bullet.

Alas, it would appear that any reports I might have made yesterday evening to people about feeling improved after my tussle of the two competing drugs may have been premature, as I had the full glorious reaction effects again last night and was acutely aware on the tube and in the various hotter shops I went into today that my sweating reaction was still inhibited enough that I was getting hot flushes. But I might try dropping the original drug as well for a couple of days and just tough out the pins and needles, let the whole lot clear out of my system.

*sigh* It would be so much simpler if my body would just co-operate with the drugs that are supposed to be trying to help it.
