WoW and Meme
Some irritating crap in WoW tonight. We downed Onyxia again, then wound up with a looting dispute (Wei and allies v. Timo, Vel and I) when Timo passed the Mature Black Dragon Sinew to Jared instead of Leonor, since Jared had made more progress on his elite solo questline. Just stupid greedy stuff, and I fanned the flames because I've been irritated with Wei & company for ages and will seize any excuse to throw sand in their faces. Far more drama and grief than are really needed from a game.

1. Let us say that, in the style of one Joel Rosenberg, you are abruptly thrust into the world and role of one of your characters, with that character's responsibilities, relationships and powers. Which character would you choose, if you were offered the choice?
I'd go with my GURPS Supers character, Tokugawa Nareruku/"Musya" (Ghost). Any character in whom I've been seriously invested felt like (and was) an outsider in some way. I pick the character who was different by virtue of being actively better than the norm - incredible speed and reflexes, some minor empathy/telepathy powers, easy access to all the modern conveniences to which I've grown accustomed (present-day setting), not one but two full peer support networks, an established and friendly relationship with the remnants of all three of the world's good-aligned supergroups, a chance to do college again... Yeah, that seems like the right call.
Also, I would absolutely tear shit up on a soccer, volleyball, or softball field. Baseball and football, too, but who's going to let a girl go out and embarass the frat jocks?
2. What, if anything, would you do differently in college, had you the option of reliving the experience?
I would ditch all of my history classes, declare my English major and take creative writing earlier, do a thesis, and skip the CS courses from my senior year.
3. Who's your current favorite author?
George RR Martin is the only author whose books I'm actively tracking through the publishing process. Release Dance of Dragons!
4. What's your opinion on the thus-far-revealed changes to Exalted2?
I haven't been looking at the rumors very carefully, since it seems silly to get worked up about rumors, but...
Tick-based Combat Sequence - seems interesting. I don't really understand it at all.
Consolidation of Brawl and Martial Arts - about time. The Dawn Caste appreciates this respite from dry fisting.
Lack of Immediate Lunar Revisions - ... slow burn...
5. Who's your favorite villain, and why?
Brandon of Ygrath. He's a tragic, sympathetic figure with virtues to match his vices, undermined by a fatal flaw with which I can empathize (vengeance). What other choice could there possibly be?
