My parents got back from Vietnam last night. The house has exploded with all of the stuff they brought back, including piles of laundry (grr). Apparently they had a ball of a time; my dad keeps on showing me his pictures of seriously adorable children. *__* And the landscapes are gorgeous. They keep telling me I should go (and I kind of want to... except for the heat.) Anyhoo. The past couple of days have been tiring, with me making sure the house was ship-shape and then them coming home.
Our Nightblooming cereus (gorgeous rare single night blooming flower) is going crazy with blossoms right now. There was a bloom a couple nights ago, one tonight and another four on the way. It's kind of crazy because it usually only gets one or two a year. Anyway. I'm not into botany or anything, but I kind of geek out about this flower. Some people have orchids, I have (what I have nicknamed) the 'alien flower'. It's kind of awesome. /total nerd fail
ANYWAY... I'm dealing with the whole Panic thing the only way I know how... avoidance. That is, I'm trying to avoid the Jon/Ryan twitters and am instead listening to '3 little birds' on repeat. It seems to be working so far. Who knows what the weekend will hold. Seriously, I hope it's something good and happy. *crosses fingers*
To end on a happy note, one of my best friends in the whole world (we're practically like siblings) birthday was today and I made him chocolate chip coconut oatmeal cookies. They were delicious. The end.
