It seems that the livejournal train is coming to a stop. I liked your post, and I find myself nodding in agreement to the majority.

Personally, I've used livejournal to express annoyance in others and for that I feel foolish. And vice-versa, I find it ridiculous when 'dirty laundry' is aired in turn. I'm also upset by the fact that the livejournal 'defriend' has become the first expression that a friendship is over. However, I find myself in a dichotomy because livejournal is an excellent way for me to keep in touch with friends who have moved away or I rarely see.

It seems silly that an internet forum can cause a slight headache, but I understand where you are coming and I suppose used your post as an outlet for my personal beefs.

I share the de-friend sentiment; one of the reasons I'm done with this is because I have a sinking feeling that de-friending people whose posts I don't care to read would maybe make them think I have something against them as a person. I'm not trying to flatter myself when I say this, I'm sure that some wouldn't care either.

I think maybe somewhere in the process of me writing for myself and for other people, the other people part took over and the purpose that LJ once served for me in order to vent, or display thoughts, just turned into me waving my arms around screaming out for someone to comment that they felt the same way. I don't feel like I'll lose touch with anyone at this point because I'm coming to terms with what being a good friend is. Not to downplay the fact that you feel it's a good way to keep in touch, I do agree with you.

I guess it is kind of silly that what I make a deliberate choice to read makes me unhappy. Oh well.

I hope that you didn't take it that I meant you were silly, I meant that sometimes livejournal can be a headache, and that fact alone is what's ridiculous.
