Challenge...

I was given this challenge by a friend of mine earlier today..."pretend you are someone from a previous century while you go about your business online. This means reviewing fanfic, posting to a group, et cetera, must be done IN CHARACTER."

Well, I'm not terribly sure I'm up to this challenge, but it might be fun. I think Mary Christmas was just bored and had been reading too many Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century fics. But anyway, I sorta changed it up a little and decided to make a story out of it. More fun that way.

Were anyone to tell me when I awoke this morning that I would find myself lying in a park that once used to be my home, I would have called them crazy, perhaps even possessed. And had they gone further to inform me of the strange sights that would meet my eyes--a vehicle not only horseless, but not powered by steam either!--I would have had my father shoot them, to put them out of their misery. The asylum certainly would not have been pleasant for them.

I shall not bore you with the sordid details of my arrival, or of the reception I recieved from the odd people of this new world. Suffice it to say, I have found someone kind enough to take me in and show me the wonders of this place (not another planet as I at first assumed, but a hundred years later) and am now learning the etiquet of this thing called 'internet'.

Yeah, it's not going as well as I'd hoped. But, eh it was something to keep from being bored for five minutes, lol.
