Silly people.
Downsizing my TV stand consisted of 2 main steps; getting rid of my old TV stand, and finding a new one.
Craigslist. I found one that was smaller and less obtrusive than the one I had. 10 bucks. Cool.
Now to get rid of my large 4' tall X 3' wide one. It was kind of in poor shape. not horrible, but not brand new. I wasn't even going to try to get someone to buy it. I posted it in the free section. After a week and 4 people "who were going to come by" and never did, I was about to demolish it and throw it in a dumpster. Then Steve talked to me.
Steve: Are you posting it in the "free" section, or the furnature section?
Me: free
Steve: put it in furnature for like $20
I'll bet you will get more offers
Me: Maybe I will.
Steve: people see "free" and they think "crap"
So, I put it up for 20 bucks. Less than an hour later I had an offer. Then they came and took it later. Gone.
It just goes to show you, always DHV. (That stands for Demonstrate/Demonstration of Higher Value)
