WHY AM I STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL?

Parents/Guardians,
Today we had another incident of an unknown student making a threat via a sheet of paper that was left on the bathroom floor. This one stated, “There is a bomb in school. The bomb will detonote Somewhere between 10:30 moday and 12:00 Wednsday” (spelling is the writers).
Again we believe this is a sad excuse for a hoax as the one last week didn’t produce the effect that someone wanted, that being to close the school. Today we evacuated the students to the field, called the police and did another complete search of the school, lockers, etc. We also had a bomb dog in to do a sweep as an extra precaution. As expected, nothing was found.
The search took about two hours to complete. We brought the students back into the gym and talked to them about the seriousness of these threats and the consequences. We then explained the schedule for the rest of the day and released them to lunch.
Beginning tomorrow we will have a lock on the bathrooms and students will have to sign into the office to use the office restrooms. This will continue until we find the individual that is making the threats. Also for Tuesday and Wednesday, students will be searched as they enter the building. They should not bring any bags (such as book bags or athletic bags) into the building with them. For today only, all athletic events, practices and after school programs have been cancelled.
We take seriously the safety of your student. Unfortunately, it sometimes creates circumstances that are less than favorable. Please have patience and bear with us as we endeavor to provide an uninterrupted and safe educational experience for your student.
