Connla had been out playing when he had seen a bush covered in
purple flowers; they were pretty and sweet-smelling and he thought that they reminded him of not-really-but-sort-of big sister. A few minutes later, he was running back into the house, his arms full of lilac. After setting them down on the kitchen table, he climbed up onto the counter to get a tall glass, filled it with water, and put them in.
Girls liked flowers, right? So Rin should like it if he put them up in her room, wouldn't she? He could put them right by her bed, so then she'd definitely see them when she walked in.
He walked upstairs-- fighting the urge to take the steps two at a time so that he wouldn't spill-- and went to Rin's door. It took a little creative juggling so that he had a hand free to open it, but he managed well enough, and was able to go in and put the flowers on his big sister's nightstand. He looked at the display of lilac proudly for a moment or two, nodding to himself-- Rin would definitely like them.
Now all he had to do was go downstairs and wait for her to get home and see them.

Connla ran up the steps to the house; Gilgamesh had promised that they would fight, and he'd never fought with a king before, so he was terribly excited for it. If he was a king, then that had to mean that he was a really good warrior, because it wouldn't be right for there to be a king who didn't know how to fight very well. Connla was always up for meeting new people and fighting with them, because what is making friends normally.
He thankfully remembered that it was considered polite to knock on the door first and not just barge right in, and, since he wanted to be friends with Gilgamesh, he ought to remember his manners.
So after knocking quite loudly on the door, he waited for it to be answered, bouncing a little on the balls of his feet in barely-contained excitement.
