[Dammit, he just finished getting stabbed by one guy, he didn't want to start getting poked full of holes again by another.]

W-why would he do that?

[Usually he'd met someone before, you know, they started detesting him.]

[Sometimes, it was really unfortunate to have geasa on him.]

[It was a good thing that Connla was hard to kill, then.]

It doesn't matter if you want me to tell you. I can't.

[He was going to take a look at that picture, though. It was like a painting, but it didn't look like paint and it had so many little details.]

[Intimidation tactics? Connla knew where he stood with those. Rin wasn't half as scary as Scathach.]

I don't care what you call me. I'm forbidden from telling anyone my name, so I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to.

[He huffed.] If you want something to call me, call me Cuán. That's good enough.

[Still not as scary as Scathach. Even Lancer would take Rin over Connla's aunt any day of the week.]

Don't underestimate me just because I'm young.

If anyone crosses me, I'll take care of it myself. It's not like I need anybody to fight my battles for me. A knight's honor is his pride, you know.

[Not that Connla was actually a knight, but he had planned on being one.]

[The smile reminded him of his aunt more than the glares did.] Yes, but I shouldn't have been waking up at all.

[Most people didn't wake up after getting stabbed in the chest with a spear unless they had plot armor.]

[Okay, he's deflating a bit here. Don't mind that pout. If he was older, it might have looked quite similar to this.] I would have been a knight, if I hadn't gotten killed.

I'm not a spirit! I don't think I am, at least. I do want to be a hero, though. Or I did, but it's really hard to be a hero when you're dead.

[Might be better than his first life, honestly.]

If I get a challenge, I can't turn it down. Besides, I'm good at fighting-- I won't lose.
