in life there are things that we do on purpose, and when our actions have negative consequences, we wonder "why? why did this happen? what did i do to deserve this?" i now realize that perhaps i should have nurtured and cared for certain "relationships" rather than ignored them. we associate the word "consequence" with something negative, but it is the outcome of a decision that we make. not all consequences have to be negative: they could create a domino effect of greater things to come. when you put your consequence in a softer light, it's easier for you to accept it and to move on. naturally, with all things that are hard to accept, there will be times when it seems that your "punishment" is too hard to bear and you break down--if only for a moment. but you can't stay down; you cannot let it drag you into the earth. we all have the ability to rise above whatever is causing us distress. if we gave it life, we can take it away--although not as easily as we created it or as soon as we would like--but we all are strong enough to overcome.
