Yuletide Letter 2012 :D
Hello, Yuletide writer! First of all, thank you so much for offering one of my fandoms!
I swear I'm really easy to please- if it's one of the fandoms and characters requested, I'll pretty much be happy!
My do-not-want list is quite small- I'd prefer no non-canonical incest, child molestation or explict rape scenes. If you want to put smut in your story, I'm down for it provided both participants can meaningfully consent. I'm also fine with fade-to-black or no sexual content whatsoever!
If you're stuck and want some of my likes, since I realize my entirely pornographic list of works is not especially helpful on that front, particularly if you're writing me gen, I love character interplay, layered relationships, gen, m/f, f/f, m/m, bittersweet endings, sweet endings, bitter endings... and if you have any questions, anon commenting is always on, or you can drop me a line through the Yuletide mods.

I seriously just love Triss. I'd be happy to see more about her relationship with Geralt, or her relationship with Yennefer (which could be friendship or something more complicated and sexual). I'd be just as fine seeing something from her past or future. And honestly, I love the rest of the Witcher cast too, so you don't have to make her the focal point if you don't want to, so long as she's there!
I was introduced to the series through the games, but I've since read The Blood of Elves and a couple of short stories, and at the time of this writing am making my way through a fan translation of Times of Contempt, so if we've been matched on this prompt, I encourage you to use whichever canon you're more familiar with (I'm not particularly fussed about spoilers).
I guess what interests me most about Triss is that she hangs around overpowered legendary people like Yennefer, Geralt, Ciri and Philipa Eilhart, but she has all this obvious vulnerability. Not that Yen and Geralt and co don't have their soft spots, but Triss is heartfelt and freaking allergic to magical remedies, which must have gotten her mocked as a kid a lot. Considering how in what I've read so far, Yennefer seems like the polar opposite, if you're writing book canon, I'd love to see how they became friends. And if you're writing game canon, I wonder if Triss ever fears once Geralt gets his memories back, he'll decide he loves Yennefer more than her.
Awake
Okay, so there's not enough fic for Awake, period, and there's definitely not enough with Hanna in it! I was particularly devastated that we never got to see the red storyline play out with Michael, Hanna, Emma and Rex's son, but you don't have to write about that if you don't want. I do wonder how Hanna would react to Emma in a world where Rex was still alive, or what her life would have been like if Michael had died and it was just her and Rex. Since the finale was gloriously ambiguous about reality, you could go in any sort of direction without technically writing an AU, I think.
That said, I'd rather you not write Hanna and Michael divorcing? Or at least, if you do, don't make one of them the bad guy. There were a lot of things drawing Hanna to Oregon, but I don't buy that escape from Michael was one of them. She wanted to have another kid with him, for crying out loud (and actually apparently if there had been a second one she would have had one, so that could be a direction too).
Also, feel free to thrown in some surrealist stuff and mindfuckery- I think Awake was always at its best when Michael seemed to be teetering on the edge of madness.
'Tis Pity She's A Whore- John Ford
I love Annabella and Giovanni- I love her sarcasm at a legion of unwanted suitors, and I love him trying to argue philosophy with a priest, and I love their crazy codependence. Basically anything with the two of them would be amazing- you could write them realizing their feelings before the play, you could write secret meetings (with or without smut) during the play, heck, if you wanted to go super challenging you could write an AU where they have a normal sibling love for each other and make fun of everybody else in town.
So, this would be my request with canonical incest! I'd say if you're not writing an AU, the incest is pretty much mandatory for this fandom. That said, I feel like it's implied in the text that Giovanni's only recently come home from school in another part of Italy, and he has been away for a long time, so I'd prefer it if you didn't write them being like, eleven and wanting to screw, if that makes sense? Innocent wee babies trying to kiss is okay, but I'd rather their sexual feelings be on the recent side. The character death is also canonical, so if you want to work with that, I won't complain!
Princess Bride- William Goldman
So, I was the weirdo who lobbied for putting William Goldman's fictional self on the character list. If we've been matched on this request, that means you actually volunteered to write him, and you are awesome! Obviously from that I was hoping for some meta fic about how Goldman's relationship to the characters changed with the movie, or if you wanted to get really out there, the failed Princess Bride musical project.
That said, I am also up for a more usual type of fic. How did Goldman's take on the reunion scene go, anyway? What's the rest of Buttercup's Baby like? How did Westley end up working on that farm? What happens when Buttercup is no longer the most beautiful woman in the world?
Seriously, I love The Princess Bride, and if you have your own idea outside of these prompts, I encourage you to run with it, and I'm sure I'll be happy.
