Sweet Valley Twins #21 Left Behind (in two easy chapters)

Jul 02, 2008 22:53

Ever notice how the Sweet Valley character's woes could have been averted by using common sense? Sure, the book'd only be two chapters long, but I wouldn't be banging my head against a brick wall after reading it. Take Sarah in #21 Left Behind for instance--if only she'd spoken up, then I could have avoided reading the whole sorry book. So I decided to rewrite the book as though the characters had a lick of sense in their pretty little heads. Enjoy.

SVT #21 Left Behind

CHAPTER ONE
Jessica and Elizabeth are twins who are so alike down to the dimple in their left butt cheeks yadda yadda yadda. Liz and Amy leave school for the day with Sarah, who is sad.

Sarah: I'm so sad. My almost step mum is mean and my dad doesn't care.

Liz: If I had a spine I'd tell you to stick up for yourself and talk to your dad. But sadly, I'm the sensible and boring twin.

Amy: Well, I do have a spine. Sarah, tell your dad what's happening.

Sarah: Okay.

Amy: Oh and PS Liz, you prolly won't want to hang around me in about four years time. I feel a touch of the raging bitch coming on.

Liz: Thanks for the warning.

CHAPTER TWO
Sarah is at home with her dad.

Sarah: Annie's a cheating cheater who lies about her family and shirks her chores. She's pretty much an adult version of Jessica.

Dad: Who's Jessica?

Sarah: You know, Jessica Wakefield of the Wakefield twins, Jess and Liz.

Dad: Oh, that twin. I'll dump Annie's sorry ass right now.

Sarah: Thanks dad. Let's have a party.

Dad: Why?

Sarah: These book either end in a party or a coma, and since this is a happy ending...

Dad: Ok

THE END
