after many many hours of hard work, stress, and late nights these past few days i finally finished my photo project. i just got out of the critique and it went over very well. it feels so good to have it finished. even though sometimes it gets very stressful, and i have to fork out lots of money and time, photography always seems to be rewarding and well worth it in the end.
here is the final product on the wall... (i will be scaning the individual negatives later for better quality close ups of the photos).
thanks to all my amazing models, and especially thanks to anderzj for breaking your arm right after the bottom photo was taken. it took the photo to a whole different level. its always good to sacrifice your body for the sake of art.

..Dumpster Love.. by: Tiffany Mumma
I used to think that people who dug through the trash were dirty, gross, desperate, and stupid. But one night years ago I came to the realization that I was terribly wrong. Shifting through dumpsters full of chairs, books, frames, coffee, packaged food and fruit, and other treasures, I quickly learned that I was actually the stupid one for forking out so much money to pay for all the same things I was now finding free of charge. Some of the objects may have had a small flaw, but for the most part they were relatively clean, the food was still fresh, not to mention tasty, and the only difference was there was no price tag. It was like my own little mini-mart behind the store.
For this piece of work, I want to share with you this love relationship with the very commonly misunderstood and shunned creature called the dumpster and what that has to do with sacred vs. secular. What constitutes something as ..trash..? Just because someone throws something away does that mean that it no longer holds any value or importance? Is it not useful anymore? You..ve always heard the saying ..What one considers trash, the other considers treasure.., and that is no lie. There is a whole world out there full of free and exciting things just waiting to be discovered; yet our society has always looked down upon this act of digging through the trash. Why is that?
[p.s. let me know what you think. honestly. feel free to give me your critiques and make me a better photographer].
