in other news, heres what my teacher had to say about my final project (the tom waits dvd/photo montage)...

This piece is very effective, very beautiful, very evocative. I love the overall mood of it, and I appreciate the kind of effort and motivation that went into it. The photos themselves are very striking and beautiful, but when paired with the ambient sound and lyrics of Tom Waits, it’s a perfect fit. I enjoyed the pacing of it as well-good mixture of abstract mood shots with more composed, attention-grabbing shots. I love that when I said that they would make good prints, you went ahead and pulled out a book-that shows me that you really took ownership in this project, and made it more than just a class project, which is awesome. This is a very strong portfolio piece, and the sort of thing you should pursue more of.
