The National Enquirer, our best source for courageous, late-breaking news

Why don't we get to the real question, why has the media chosen to ignore the existence of the Bat Boy? Seriously, if Fox News watchers believe what is served up in this tabloid then it's no wonder that they listen to the words of Hannity and O'Reilly. The Enquirer is not a serious source of news, and frankly if a story's in their paper it's probably a good idea to just reject it without any further thought. Not surprisingly, the same could be said about Fox News. If the people who are buying this garbage actually got their news from sources other than Fox then they'd realize that the reason this story hasn't been mentioned anywhere else is because it almost certainly never happened.

Seriously, it just shows the desperation of the Republican Party that they're running offense on a guy who isn't running for President and probably isn't even being considered for VP.

UPDATE: Okay, so apparently there might have been a bit of truth to the story. That doesn't mean that the mainstream media was wrong to discredit it, when the witness worked for a tabloid and the only people who were advancing the story worked for Fox News. It also shouldn't have any bearing on the election, since Edwards isn't the candidate or even the running-mate and he hadn't been named as the likely holder of any cabinet position yet. It would be pretty hypocritical for McCain to attack the Democrats with the bad actions of a former vice presidential candidate given his own experiences with marital infidelity and abandoning a spouse in her hour of need.
