Wasn't that surprising?

Actually no, it wasn't. In case you're wondering, I'm talking about the disappointing but completely expected collapse of the Phillies upon reaching the post-season. They've made us wait for fourteen years just to get to this point, and yet they laid down and allowed themselves to be rolled over in three straight games. I can actually remember the last time we got this far, only to be crushed that time around by the Blue Jays because of a tragic replacement of the good pitcher (Schilling) with the crappy guy who shouldn't have been on the team in the first place (Williams). My remembrance of that series puts me ahead of a lot of adults who were much younger all the way back then in 1993, and the fact that it's been that long since we've even made it to the division series proves why it's so horrible to be a fan of teams in Philadelphia. It'd be one thing if it was only the Phillies who were this way, but none of our teams can win anything ever. The last time that a professional team in Philly won anything was the Sixers winning in 1983, which in case you don't do math well was 24 years ago. I was 4 years old when they won. That sucks. It's not that I'm going to stop cheering my teams, of course, but it really hurts when they don't even try to win.

Hopefully the Rockies will lose to the team that they face next, and they probably will since that team presumably wants to win which is more than I can say about the Phillies. I'd say that there's always next year, but we've been saying that since 1981 so it doesn't really mean anything anymore.
