Why does my ankle still hurt? It's been five days since I twisted it, and yet it's still swollen and still hurts like hell (although it doesn't really hurt when I touch it, just when I move it). I really hope that this pain goes away, it's making it difficult to function and I really don't need this to keep persisting. I really don't want to go to the hospital about this...

Oh, and it's also supposed to be hot as hell today. I think that they downgraded the forecasted temperature down below 100, but it's still supposed to be in the very high 90s with a heat index of 110. I'm going to be staying indoors in my nice, air conditioned office until 5, but after that is anybody's guess. Last night wasn't really that bad, so I'm hopeful that tonight will be equally not bad so that I can get some sleep and not wake up in a pool of sweat. We're supposed to get some relief after tomorrow, I'm looking forward to that.

Also tomorrow, I'm planning to go see a play with some co-workers of mine. The play is called "The 70", and it's about living in the inner city as exemplified by having to ride the 70/71 buses down Georgia Avenue and 7th Street NW/SW every day. This happens to be the first bus that I take in the morning, a bus that I'm very familiar with, so it should be interesting to see their take on it. The play is free, and is being performed at the MLK Library, so if you like such things and live in the District you might want to check it out. Performances are at 6:45pm Tuesday-Thursday and 3:30pm on Saturdays, through August 12th.
