Valentine Chocolate
"Lets see.. From Hiyama-san. Whoa! this one is expensive. Hey Ryo-chan, are you sure its okay for me to eat your chocolates?" Mirai said. She's busy unwrapping the chocolates that Ryosuke received for their schoolmates.
"Eat them all if you want! You are annoying Mi-chan, I can't concentrate here" Ryosuke answered. He's playing some video game with Yuri.
"Ah.. you're so generous today. This looks delicious" she said and ate the chocolate she's holding. "Its even more delicious than I thought!" she commented.
"Yosh! Yuri wins! Hahaha.." Yuri shouted.
"Damn! That's 3 in a row. Lets stop this stupid game!" Ryosuke protested.
"Hey, relax. You are extra moody today, what's wrong with you?" Mirai said.
"I think I know why, Mirai. He's not in the mood because the girl he likes didn't give him a chocolate" Yuri teased.
"Shut up Yuri. Don't mess with me or else..." Ryosuke threatened.
"Eh?! That's shallow. Wait, You like someone? Who is she?" Mirai asked Ryosuke.
"She's the world's most stupid girl" Yuri answered for Ryosuke, laughing as he packed his things.
"that's mean Yuri. Come on, tell me" She said.
"Its better if you hear it from the man himself, Mirai" Yuri said as he stood up and head to the door.
"See you tomorrow, Ryo-chan, Mi-chan! he said with a teasing look on his face and leave the two.
"Ryo-chan, please tell me who she is" Mirai pleaded.
"I'll tell you if you give me chocolates" Ryosuke said.
"Ah! This one, this is the tastiest so far" she said as she handed Ryosuke a big piece of chocolate.
"I don't want any of that. Where's the chocolate you made?"
"Eh? I didn't make any chocolate"
"Liar. I saw your brother last night and he said that you're making chocolates"
"Ah that.. Ano~ he forced me to make some for him. Yeah, that's it. Well, he said that no one might give him some so I made it for him" Mirai lied.
"That's a lame excuse" Ryosuke said and he grabbed Mirai's school bag.
"Oy! What are you doing? Give it back to me" she tried to snatch her bag from Ryosuke while he opened the bag and looked for something.
"Tadaaa~" he got a box from her bag and raise it with his hand so that she can't snatch the box from him. He stared at the box, the tag on it, to be exact while Mirai tried her best to jump high to get the box.
"To Ryo-chan" he read out loud what's written on the tag. That made her gave up on retrieving the box.
"your brother's name is Kento, and as far as I know, you don't call him Ryo-chan" he said with a grin as he placed the box on the table.
"That.. Ano~" she struggled for words.
" 'That is for you' Come on, say it" he said as he faced her. She just smiled. She didn't know how to answer him anyway.
"so this is really for me. Thanks. this is the best chocolate I received today" he said happily.
"Eh? Are you being sarcastic?" Mirai asked.
"No, I'm not. This is from you so this is really the best" he explained but that only made her confused.
"What's that suppose to mean?"
Ryosuke laughed and he moved his face closer to her's. "Mi-chan.. I like you. No. I don't like you. I love you. Yes. That's even more appropriate" he confessed. She took some steps backward. With his face that close, its hard for her to breath.
"That was a very funny joke. Hahaha.." she faked a laugh. Actually, she could not believe what he just heard.
Ryosuke move closer to her and he put his hands on her shoulders. He kissed her gently on the lips. Mirai stood there, frozen. Never did she imagine that any of this will happen.
"Do you still think its a joke?" he asked as he pulled back from the kiss.
"I.. I don't.. know.." she answered, obviously, still shocked about the kiss.
He laughed a bit. "Yuri's right, I'm in love with the world's most stupid girl" he said. He grabbed the box again and unwrapped it. He is totally surprised at what he saw. The chocolates are shaped with the kanji of his name. Its imperfection reflects the difficulty to make it.
"Seems like I don't want to eat them, but let me taste it, okay?" he said and he picked up the "yama" and had a small bite. "Taste perfect" he commented as he put the box on the table.
Mirai, who has been watching him finally broke her silence. "Ryo-chan.. I.. I.." she said still struggling to speak.
" 'I love you' is that what you want to say? I already know that. But it is still better if I hear it from you" he said as he faced her.
"But I know that you can't say it so you don't have to force yourself, okay?" he continued.
"I love you!" Mirai shouted then he hugged him. He was now the one who froze. When he got back to his senses, he hugged her tightly too. Out of nowhere, they both laughed and released each other.
"shall we go to school tomorrow, together?" he asked. "We do that everyday" she answered.
"Hand in hand?" he asked again, his smile never leaving his face.
"hmm.. I guess so" she said shyly.
"lets eat your chocolates" she said to change their topic. He laughed.
"I'm planning to throw those away" he said pointing at the piles of chocolates on the table.
"Eh? you don't know how to appreciate food. You should not waste them" she said.
He laughed again. I'm happy with just this one" he answered as he picked up the box of chocolate Mirai made.
