[Officially, school's finished. Temari would be going home, if her new philosophy teacher hadn't threatened to get Gaara pulled out of school after he'd finally made some friends

[He's changed his shirt, the gash she left on his chest being treated by Konan already, and only stings a little when he moves one particular way or another.
But truly he's not that much of a bastard. Alright, maybe he is. But he does have the occasional moment of mercy. He's brought food. Good food. Konan's food. Temari had better feel special, he didn't share that with just anyone.
When he strides into the room, he's surprised her to be there already, he's expected her putting this off for the last second, turning up as late as possible.]
Ms. Sabako, glad to see you are ready and waiting. [He sets the food down on his desk.]
[Temari does notice that he's changed his shirt when he arrives- only because she would've felt more satisfied to see the results of her attack. She notices the plate of food he brings in too, and resolves not to eat any NO MATTER WHAT. It's probably poisoned, or worse, laced with some truth serum.
She ignores him, jaw clenched shut and intently staring at the wall.]
Hardly. It teaches you about consequences. Had you calmly explained your views to me, reasonably, I wouldn't have put you in there. I told you, my class is one of reason. Instead, you threw a chair at me. [ :| ]
The ancient Spartans did something similar to their students.
[He picks up a biscuit and eats it himself. See not poisoned.] If it helps, Konan-san cooked them.
It's none of your business. And if you hadn't started insulting my brother, I wouldn't've thrown anything at you! But it doesn't count anyway, it's not like it hit you! [She's growing more agitated as you talk, but still calmer than she'd been before.]
[Tempting, but no.] Am I here just so you can eat cookies in front of me? [Sarcastic] I want to leave.
What your brother is and is not was not the topic of discussion. His creation of your home environment and the shaping of your personality was what it was about, it also included your father, had you bothered to calm down and listen.
[He picks up the cookies and brings them over to her] Eat them. You cannot be one to waste food. [He knows about your money problems too.]
Once again- not your business. At all. [She still has no idea what the point of this session is. It's not like her family's situation affected him in any way..]
No. I'm not hungry. [Since he's such a good stalker, he should know how stubborn she is already. Her lie is punctuated by a growl from her stomach though, and a defiant glare.]
Alright, fine. I'll share if you do too. [She's betting that he'll refuse- she's not actually planning on saying anything about herself. Temari doesn't even talk to Gaara about this stuff, there's no way she's going to tell some teacher!]
... No. [She scowls at him, it's not like she's scared. To prove her point she grabs one and stuffs it in her mouth- it tasted surprisingly good! But she hadn't eaten home cooked food for awhile, Temari didn't cook much because she finds it boring, and ends up burning most things.]
Alright then. Some things will be in reason, of course. [His expression is relaxed, open even, for him. He wonders exactly what it was she would want to know.]
... Better now? I find most people are in a worse mood when they are hungry. Especially a girl growing like yourself.
... What so I'm supposed to spill my soul while you only answer certain questions? [Annoyed expression.]
[Temari tries to figure out if he's implying something insulting, but can't find any hidden meanings so she just replies stiffly.] Whatever. Are you like, constantly hungry or something?
Hardly. But I didn't ask you how your brother tried to kill you did I? No, I asked simply for it's effect on you.
[He gets a wistful look, ignoring her jib at his being in a bad mood.] No... but I have been away from Konan's cooking for a very long time... I missed it, find myself greedy for it almost.
[Talking about the first would be less personal than the second, but they're both too private to tell him about just to sate his curiosity.] I'm not answering that.
Okay.. What was your relationship with her? [You could call this curiosity too, but you'd be closer to the truth if you guessed it was more like information gathering. Step 1- know your enemy. It occurs to Temari that she can't even look him up anywhere yet..] What's your name?
... Then if you won't write your paper, and you won't talk about it, how am I meant to grade your work in my class? If you won't give me an option, what am I to do as your teacher? Call your father? [He lets that hang hang as the softest of threats.]
[Laughs a little, its a soft noise then she probably hadn't expected expected.] We are old friends. She mothered myself and a mutual friend, and we protected her... or so we thought. Mostly she let us think we were doing so, and minded her own business.
... You may call me Pein. [He doesn't even ask for the 'sama' at the end.]
I told you, give me another topic. Ask me what I eat for breakfast or something. [Ignores the threat as, so far, they have been conversing like decent people.]
Okay.. and how do you feel about her going out with the history teacher? Who is, by the way, much cooler than you. [She may or may not be trying to annoy him.]
[Oh geez how nice of you.] Pein. Right. From where?

You may have one if you wish, I am not going to poison you. That would be cowardly.

Locking students up in a safe isn't cowardly?

He smirks lightly at her tell tale hunger.] Would it be better if Konan-san gave them to Gaara? Would that soothe your pride somewhat?
