No...more....cooking.....

I'm now drinking a well-earned large glass of white wine. Today I cooked: cranberry sauce (everything done except the diced persimmons that must be folded in last minute), 3 batched of roasted chickpeas with different spices, 1 failed batch of cheese cracker-things, now known as disaster crackers (I may decide to do them again tomorrow with adjustments, depending on how I feel), a roasted red pepper dip, and dinner- pasta with canned sauce that I added spices and various things to so it was edible :)

I have done most of the prep work for stuffed mushrooms (found out I bought the wrong cheese, so we have to go back out to the store tomorrow, damnit!).

I am also having a debate about pie crust. I really, _really_ stress about pie crust. I was going to make it, but then when we went to the store I saw some frozen ones, so I picked one up. The pie is for jkyllo's family Thanksgiving, and I'm fairly sure no-one there will mock me for the shortcut. However, I'm baking it at my mom's, so who knows what will happen there. Pie crust really isn't that hard, but I'm kinda out of time since it has to rest an hour in the fridge and I am done for the night. I guess I will reconsider in the morning.

Oh yeah, and I have to cook a sweet potato gratin over at my mom's house tomorrow too. Should have just told her I would buy the stuff, but no. She doesn't have a recipe for this dish, though, so it's probably better that I will be within earshot for her orders :)

Anyone interested in meeting in Portland next year and going out to eat? Or even getting a hotel room with a kitchen and cooking something obscenely easy and relaxing? I know a good hotel for that...
