Happiness and kitchen appliances

Today I finally got the rice cooker of my dreams. It's a 10 cup Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy rice cooker, and yes, I love the name :) It has settings for different types of rice and different styles of cooking, plays "twinkle, twinkle little star" when you push the "cook" button, and has both a "keep warm" and an "extended keep warm" function. But the coolest thing? It has a timer that allows you to set the time by which you would like your rice cooked, and it starts automatically to finish at the time you set it for. I love Japanese kitchen appliances. I have a water boiler also by Zojirushi, and that is one of the best investments I've made. I expect this rice cooker to be equally as good. I got a nice bag of short grain rice and some nori sheets to go with it. I hope soon to make my own o-nigiri and perhaps even maki sushi!

My happiness is courtesy of wedding gift checks, so I don't even have to feel guilty about the purchase. My rule about these types of gifts from the wedding (including gift cards) is that we will buy things that we would never have bought with everyday money, or things we have always wanted to buy but couldn't justify. Hence my beautiful rice cooker.

I am unreasonably happy about this!
