Eaten by TV

I feel like I've been underwater for about 5 days. It isn't quite that interesting, but still...

What I did do this past weekend (and more) was watch the entire Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica with jkyllo and his friend Mark. This was in two sessions, which meant 2 "nights" that ended at 4AM. The thing is, I don't really like Battlestar Galactica. I got through season 1 gritting my teeth- I know this is not a popular opinion, but there you have it.

Season 2 did not change my mind. After many of the episodes in Season 2, I wanted to wash my brain off, since it felt gritty and dirty. Sorry kids, I DO NOT like rape scenes, whether they are to build a character or not. Especially when you get to hear lots of crap about how great an officer he was and how he saved so many lives. And no, I don't care that he died. I didn't want it in my head. There is only so much degradation I can watch at one time, whether of men or women or whatever. It doesn't help that I haven't yet met a character on the show that I like.

It was sort of fun to stay up obscenely late watching TV. I miss doing such social things (if you can call watching TV in the dark for 6 hours at a time social *^_^* ).

Also on the list of things I've done is make baked macaroni-and-cheese. That may have been the least healthy thing I have ever made, but it's yummy :) Now I'm cleaning out my pantry. Amazing how much crap is in there. I already have a full garbage bag because I have no mercy. If it's open and older than a few weeks, out it goes. Even non-perishables are going if they are old. I'm tossing old spices and bottles of vinegar, chocolate bars and old packs of Pocky. I bought the perfect flour canister at Ikea over the weekend, so I put the flour in that and the sugar in the smaller one that came with it. Fun! I am preparing for stocking a good pantry, so I want to have room for the things we actually eat. I have about 5 different kinds of Japanese noodles, which is ok since we actually eat those.

I think I'll make miso soup for dinner. I am ballooning in an unattractive fashion right now, since I can't afford my yoga classes, so we are trying to eat in a more sensible way. (jkyllo is likely to have the same problem since he has stopped his martial arts classes)

Ok, must go now and cook so I can get to my 6 PM meeting on time. Yay, another season of chorus begins and for some reason I volunteered to be secretary :P
