The facebook/twitter linking thing.

I think it it pretty unamimous that very few will use the feature from my friends here, but I'll just put in my grand opinion on the thing.

First of all, please respect my privacy (and the privacy of those who do write here) by not crossposting to facebook, twitter, or whatever social network they'll add to LJ next without asking. Whilst i go by a different username here than what i do usually, and while I'm pretty certain very few people i interact with off the internet know I have an LJ, I'd really prefer to keep it that way. (BTW: This will be a public entry, the rest of my journal is locked.)

I write about whatever pisses me off or annoys me about my family or whatever my friendship group is doing, or even how I'm holding on to the tenious grip on reality i sometimes have. I don't need that repeated. My family found my journal here a while ago, and i got into a shitload of trouble for an entry I'd written that I'd stupidly left unlocked.

Also, while the digital age is a wonderful way of communicating, I don't feel like having my name associated with what i write here. Google searching candidates going for jobs is always something that could happen to anyone, which is why my facebook is locked, my email that I put on resumes different to the one I use for any porn lolcat subscriptions, and it's the reason I'm very careful as to what i tweet.

Once it's on the internet, it's there in some form or another for the rest of eternity.

Cheers.
