So, cleaning is at about 80% finished. I have a few boxes left over, a couple of things I need to put away and then...my desk to conquer. D| I'm so terrible about my work spaces. I like clutter. I like feeling enclosed, so I like to keep things scattered all around me at all times. I've done this since I was a kid, barricade myself into places, I mean. I need to break this habit.
Anyway, after killing that cannibalistic mofo, I haven't had any problems, but then I also antibacterial sprayed the crap out of my kitchen, threw out about 6 bags worth of old papers, trash and things I didn't need anymore, and got new shelving and storage for my house. I also have boric acid traps and sticky traps hidden everywhere. I'm going to destroy you, cockroaches. You and your entire species. It's genocide and I don't care.
In other news, Friday, I went to see Star Trek and I avoided posting about it while I was still on the high. Yes, it is an awesome movie, and I can see why ya'll have been raving about it. I loved the nods to the old series and the reasoning they had for making a remake, and well, I generally think that is how sci-fi should be done. A couple of times I wanted them to cut out the sound (it's space, yo), but overall, it was an awesome movie. I kind of want to see it again.
Saturday had the study session with Amelia,
sankakukoen,
xaqpi, and now Gordon. Good times were had, and I may or may not be joining either yoga or wing chun to help me keep up this whole 'hey, I want to not be a nasty slob 8(' thing. I also still need to buy a new TV and then buy DDR so I can exercise and enjoy it. 8D
After studying, Amelia,
sankakukoen and I went to a butler cafe concept event, put on by
Salute, the otoko-yaku group. We were served by a girl named Asahi who had really good English and who really entertained us for the hour that we were there. They gave us tea and sweets and we got to pick a photo and then take a photo with her, altogether. |D I really want to go again, but it looks like their next event isn't until September and then it's "Japanese" style. No update on what that entails, but for 2000$? I'll go again. It was a lot of fun.
Sunday, I spent cleaning. :(
Today! I went in to work and realized that it was the Lunch party that F-san sometimes puts on. XD I usually help out with that and today was no different. From 830 to 330pm, I was working in the kitchen with her and two other teachers to prepare lunch for the other teachers - soumen, tempura, salad, chikuzen (a variety of stewed items), multigrain rice, green pea rice, bread, etc. It was a feast. XD I ended up bring a LOT of it home, too, since there was so much food left over.
This Saturday is International Lolita Day and the Osaka Lolis are going out. I'm going to try the wig again with the giant tophat and probably my Atelier Boz outfit. Maybe this time it'll look better. XD Especially since my eyebrows are no longer a problem. Yay for blond makeup.
Uh, let's see...what else...
...
D| I don't have anything else to say. /signs off
OH NO WAIT. Now that I actually get to Mandarake on a regular basis, those people who asked for doujin from me? If you're still interested, post here. If you aren't and don't post, I'll remove you from the list for now.
I'm going to start looking for books and whatnot, since I... idk, feel more inclined to do things. DX Slightly different rules, though - since I have to pay to get down there and whatnot, I'm going to ask for a slight commission (not much). About 1$ a book (or 100yen per book) you ask for me to get for you. This fee doesn't change, whether your book is 200 yen or 5000yen. (Does that sound fair? If not, I can change it. D| )
I figure a dollar isn't that much of a mark-up, and it'll help me pay for taxes and transport.
ANYWAY, ordering system goes like this:
1) You ask me to find a pairing (or character focus book) for a series
2) You tell me what rating you want
3) How many books do you want? / Special preferences for circles, artists, etc.
4) I go out and find what I can.
5) I return and email you what I found and the price.
6) You paypal me the money.
7) I ship it off to you.
8) YOU PROFIT.
Or something like that. But yeah, I've realized that shopping for doujin here is weird because it's basically mostly recent fandoms that get drawn. I went to a doujin event and... couldn't find some pairings because they were too old. orz
Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know.
There are two shipping methods: EMS (insured, reaches you within 3 to 4 days; a little more pricey) or airmail (a little slower, a little cheaper). You just need to tell me which shipping method you want.
Uh...hopefully that was clear. If it wasn't, I'll repost tomorrow with more thought out rules.
