A FRACTION OF NISHIKIDO RYO
Vol. Encounter
Lately I've been spending a lot of time with the members due to filming for the movie Eito Rangers. Although all we ever talk about are unimportant stuff *laughs*, come to think of it, having been together with these members for 14 years... That's a long time, isn't it? The first ones I got to know among the members were Ohkura and Yasu, followed by Maru. I got accepted at the auditions in September when I was 13, and back then when we were split into groups i ended up in the same group as the three of them and we got along really well right from the beginning. On that very day I got asked by Yasu for my address and home phone number... Yup, we didn't have our cellphones yet back then. Ah, but i wonder why he had to ask for the address?! *Laughs*
The next ones I got to know were Murakami-kun and Subaru-kun. When I got the chance to join the stageplay MASK halfway the two of them often gave me snacks. I also got to know Yokoyama-kun when he came to watch the play, and he brought me out for yakiniku (grilled meat) on my birthday. I was really happy. Perhaps I was the first junior to be given such a treat by Yokoyama-kun?! Whether it was ending up in the same group as Yasu, Ohkura and Maru, or the fact that it could have been a coincidence that out of all the juniors he had Yokoyama-kun actually brought me out for yakiniku, I do feel that it is not by chance that we all ended up being a part of this group called Kanjani8. I don't really like to say this because it's kind of embarrassing, but I'm so happy that I get to be a part of Kanjani8.
On the first of January this year, the members and staff were just drinking and chatting backstage after the (countdown) concert, and all of a sudden Yokoyama-kun just told Subaru-kun "Name something cool about Nishikido!" and so Subaru-kun said something about me. I was really happy, and thought to myself how blessed I am to have a pal who would say such a thing of me. As for what was it he said, please let me keep it a secret! Because I would like to keep it in my heart.
I also feel that Kanjani8 is a group that is able to say "thank you" and "sorry", true to the heart. I used to be a person who could never say sorry. But some time after I'd started working and gotten to know these members, I did something really terrible to my mother, and before I knew it I was able to just tell her "I'm sorry" without a problem. My mother was so shocked at such a change in me that she started crying. I feel that these are things that Kanjani8 has taught me.
I love the yakiniku story, even though it's been told to death, lol. Yoko always recalled how he couldn't afford to bring Ryo for anything too expensive back then, and then felt bad as Ryo looked so happy eating, exclaiming non-stop about how delicious everything was. Aww. It wasn't really about the food, Yoko.
The part on Yasu asking for his contact info at the auditions lol - it was also through Yasu that the jimusho could finally contact Ryo after the auditions, cos he'd mis-written his own home phone number on the forms LOL and Ryo said in a recent interview that if not for Yasu, he'd probably not have ended up where he is today. All these cute lil ways in which they mattered to each other in the past, haha.
It's probably amazing to be a part of a group that has a common sense of purpose, a group that appreciates you for who you are and, most importantly, helps you to grow as a person. ♥ I always have problems saying sorry (even til now), so that lil bit at the end really moved me personally.
