Kis-My-Ft2 MYOJO August 2008

Jun 14, 2009 20:29

Was translating another article last night, but this one was more fun so I finished it first.
BRIEF SUMMARY:
The boys are asked to talk about the times they feel they are the most cool.
I liked the variety of answers! Wataru feels cool smashing baseballs, Taipi feels cool on stage (who didn't see that answer coming), Nika feels cool shopping, Senga feels cool dancing, Hiro doesn't think of himself as being cool or not (really?? come on... stop being modest :P), Tama thinks he's cool when fishing but NOT when sleeping (can't really understand how that is possible, Tama-chan is cute 100% of the time in my opinion) and Miyacchi thinks he is cool when he impresses people with random information.

MYOJO August 2008

Look! My BEST face

Kis-My-Ft2 Moments of Coolness

Kisumai, who have somehow gained the image of interesting representative unit of the Jrs. We asked those 7 about “times when you think you are cool”

Don’t miss the best moments of the sparkly, glittering Kisumai!

YOKOO WATARU

“I’ve even got the equipment, I’m really enthusiastic about hitting baseballs!”

I love moving my body, so I’m often playing sports in my day-to-day life. With people like my hometown friends, there are lots of times when I play baseball, futsal, basketball and so on. And, like, when you play sports, you get kind of serious, don’t you? When I think like that, the time I’m at my coolest has gotta be when I’m playing sports. Recently, I’ve been really into baseball batting. I ended up buying special batter’s gloves, called “Batting Gloves”, and a wooden bat. I used to bat right-handed, but I’m also doing practice with my left hand. Thanks to that practice, I’ve become able to strike a ball (flying) at even 100 km/h left-handed.

FUJIGAYA TAISUKE

“Basking in the cheering, my tension quickly shoots up!”

It feels really good when I’m on stage, basking in the cheering of the fans in the audience. Surely, anyone who is put that environment, whatever kind of person they are, would think “I’m cool!” and their tension would rise. Of course, I’m one of those people. I think it’s the same for the other members too. Its especially awesome the moment when our own song finishes. After singing the last chorus, fireworks and stuff go off, right? And, its because, after that, shrieks of support like “kya~” rise up from the audience’s seats. This is, you know, really good!! For that reason, please cheer me warmly next time too.

NIKAIDO TAKASHI

“After I get changed, I look in the mirror to check whether I’m looking cool or not”

I think the number one time I become coolest has to be when I’m on the stage, but, if talking about my private life, I’m full of life when I’m going shopping. Isn’t it fun to get and choose the things you’ve wanted to buy? I’m always on my own when I shop. If I can’t move at my own pace, then it’s no good. Then, when I try something on to find that it suits me even better than I predicted, its like “Right, its set!!” At times like that, even after I’ve returned home, I’ll try on the clothes again. Surely, everyone does that!

SENGA KENTO

“I ended up realizing the fun of thinking up dances!”

From the eyes of a male, males who are devoted to their hobbies are cool. And so, I guess I’m coolest when I’m doing my much-loved dancing? I dance at work, but recently, even in my private time, I’ve been dancing away. With my school friends, we’ve been gathering to practice in front of massive mirrors. There’re lots of times when I think up the choreography, but when the dance can be done the way I’ve imagined it, it’s the most enjoyable! Also, when I shoot a difficult line in billiards, I think “I did it!” More than winning the game, it feels good that I was able to control the balls in the way I had planned to.

KITAYAMA HIROMITSU

“With one remaining chance, I positively demonstrate my ability!”

I’m not a narcissist, so I don’t really think about whether I’m cool or not. But, the people I think are cool are people who are intent with their work. For example, people who cook that are serious about making a single dish, or, the figure of a sushi master who crisply rolls sushi, just looking at them, its cool. I want to aim toward something like that. Well, I’ve still got a way to go, but… The one thing I can say is that I’m strong during “the real thing”. In darts or bowling etc, even when I only have one shot left, without getting nervous, I can show my ability. That’s awesomely cool, isn’t it?

TAMAMORI YUTA

“If its between my “ON” face and “OFF” face, “OFF” wins by a landslide!”

It’d be good to say that I’m cool when I’m working, but I think when I’m resting, I might show a better face? When I’m relaxing leisurely, there’s no weird nervousness, and I think my expression is more full of life, right? Like, when I’m fishing, its definitely a good face. Recently, I went fishing at a pond in the neighborhood with friends, and it was so fun. Like, we couldn’t catch any fish others than ones that were so small, there was no point in having them, but yeah.. (laughs). Next time I want to go Bass fishing. But going expressively to lakes that are far away is kind of painful. Even though I say that my face is best when I’m relaxing, my sleeping face is totally ugly. My parents say so, so its not a mistake!

MIYATA TOSHIYA

“Announcing information about many topics, I raise my degree of intellectuality!”

The moment when I’m cool is probably when I’m asleep. When you’re peacefully sleeping, anyone, no matter who, will have a happy-looking face, and will glisten, right? Even if its me, who 9 out of 10 times in my life isn’t cool, only during this moment, don’t I give off a good appearance? (laughs)

After that, its when I announce random bits of information that I’ve gotten from a book or TV, in front of someone. When I tell someone something they don’t know, they get surprised, like “eh, is that so?” When you get that kind of reaction, it feels good, you know. Recently, I’ve mastered the art of writing the kanji “Yuutsu”* (depression, gloom). I’ll teach e---veryone.

*The computer I'm using now doesn't like recognising Japanese, so I'll input the kanji for "Yuutsu" when I'm using my own computer!! Anyway, its a complicated kanji with lots of strokes, I guess Miyacchi feels special being able to write it
