I haven't been on Livejournal in ages but recently decided to reflect on how I first started using it. To think that this stemmed from trying to keep in touch with people I'd met when using Audiogalaxy and/or from the SU.Net BBS, and then continued as I got into J-music, various fandoms, and role-playing. And, of course, I wrote a lot about my various life issues as I tried to get myself sorted out. So even though I haven't visited here in literally ages, I have a lot of memories here even if my friends have also likewise gone their separate ways.

If you're still using LJ and haven't migrated to a different service, that's pretty amazing. Their servers were moved to Russia just last year. If you look at the ToS notice that pops up here, you'll see that it's not legally binding in English. However, it is legally binding in Russian, so doing anything against it may result in your account being suspended or terminated. This includes certain discussions on LJ. (Image.)

While I've never really had those sorts of discussions here, I admit that I was actually considering updating this journal once again to talk more about life, especially since having sorted things out. Normally, I would simply cross-post from Dreamwidth as I have been, but as fond as my memories of LJ are, I think it's really time for me to let go since it's totally different from what it once used to be for me and so many others.

Take care.
