An admin assistant at work was cleaning out one of the unused offices today. Nobody had been using the office for a number of years and it had kind of become a dumping ground for furniture and stuff that people didn't want in their offices any more. The lens cap just has a logo on it
The connectors on the bottom:

And a view of the top left of the big secondary lens. It's not too clear, but there's what appears to be a red lamp or led's in that square bit that sticks up:
A friend suggested that it's some kind of catadioptric lens. I'm wondering if the big lens has its own digital sensor behind it. That'd make it a sort of super telephoto digital rig with the Kodak/Nikon being used to aim it and possibly take a wider reference picture.
From the plain appearance and lack of any logos other than on the lens cap, I suspect this is something we built here at the company for some contract that ended long ago. Nobody currently here who's seen the thing recognizes it.
