Mega Nerd Post

Those who know me well know that I am, in fact, a huge J-Rock nerd. Granted, I've gotten considerably less crazy over the years (I really did take my plushie everywhere, Jamie. EVERYWHERE.) but I still love the music and performance value and whatnot, and am still a supporter of the scene here in the states. Obviously, I'm not alone, because last week I saw this:

That, friends, is X Japan at Lollapalooza. THE X Japan. Needless to say, their concert was pretty dammed amazing and I'm still in total disbelief that I actually attended it. What's more amazing is that I know this show was sub-par compared to their previous ones. Why? Because of this guy:

I forget sometimes that hide was in X Japan, and after seeing them live, I still can't wrap my mind around the concept. It just.doesn't.compute. My mind has been blown. Again.

I feel like I'm 15 again, all starry eyed and obnoxious over J-Rock. The good news is that I've already been through all of that, so I definitely won't be thrusting cds on everyone and talking nonstop about Die and hide. You've heard that already. (And those that haven't, yes I was there once.) The bad news is that I totally want to combine nerdiness and creativity and make one of these:

Maria and I had the following conversation whilst walking around Meijer looking for Cut/Copy and Stars cds. You can blame her.
"Alice, you should totally make a hide doll! Just take Ariel's head and put it on your Bratz doll!" - Maria
"Oh god, I totally should. I'd want to go all out and make a Dollfie one though." - Alice

So there you have it. I want to make a hide Dollfie. I've been looking into the smaller ones, not the Super Dollfies, because my pockets are only so deep. It seems pretty feasible, and looks like a whole lot of fun.

In other news, I decided to clean out all the dead skin, crumbs and who-knows-what sauce out of my keyboard while I was setting up my computer over the weekend. I also decided to paint it, so I now have a lovely purple and ivory keyboard.

x japan, j-rock, dolls, nerdiness
