On Tuesday I started "working." There's an uncle who lives a couple blocks behind us. He owns his own small company called Fortech Software Consulting, Inc. Yesterday was my first day there. I basically go there and learn Java. Then I will learn SQL and link a graphical user interface with a database. This uncle has a broad range of experience. He's worked for commercial engineering companies (Microchip and VP of something in CA) as well as started something on his own. He's helped revamp my resume and given me some career advice, which is really nice of him. I've talked to a lot of uncles and many of them don't know much. However, I can tell this uncle knows his stuff.
By the way, when I say uncle I generally am not referring to a relative. Everyone in Indian culture is your uncle or aunty (aunt).
I have a strange sickness acquired from someone. I cough a lot and my throat hurts, but my nose is normal and I have a normal amount of energy. When you're sick all parts of your being are affect but this time just my throat and voice have been affected. Someone said when I talk I sound as though I am in agony.
This "work" stuff is draining. I come home and I'm wasted. I spent 6.5 hours the first day there and today I spent 3.5 hours. It doesn't help that I have slept poorly the last couple nights. Lack of quality sleep really screws me over.
I'm in the middle of my revolution post. I wonder if I will get chewed out for it or whether it will encourage some good debate. Hopefully, it will be the latter.
