Past and Future

Wow. It sure has been a while since I've posted. Life tends to get in the way of that thing. let's see, what have I done since my last entry.

First of all, I've made an achievement that I'm sure  everyone will be proud of.  An accomplishment that sets me above the rest, makes me truly worthy of adulation.

I've learned to whistle. Do you know how many years I've been puckering these lips, and been getting nothing? I'm excited! I haven't stopped whistling since I learned two weeks ago! I'm becoming quite annoying.

In other news that I'm sure you all want to know:

I'm recently unemployed. I'm optimistic, however, that this job hunt will be miles shorter than the last. I'm using resources I was unaware of before, that will cut my search in half.

I switched to a less expensive,  more healthy, somewhat blander diet. It consists of rice, lentils and whatever else happens to be in my fridge. My body has not been adjusting well. (i've cut my meat intake in half!)

I had lunch with my brother and his boyfriend. We went to Red Robin and I indulged in a "Baha Burger".  Not a good idea...rice and lentil diet, remember? Stomach aches soon followed.

My Dad has a sinus infection and I've been deathly afraid of catching it while trying to take care of him.

What else...I've fallen in love with Legends Class Ravage and I think I want to repaint him.

In the meantime, I've decided what I'm going to dedicate this blog to.

I've always loved fantasy and science fiction. I am not ashamed to say that I have never read Narnia. It wasn't really available. what did I read?

I started out with Coville's Magic Shop books and A Wrinkle in Time. When i realized how much I loved this stuff, I threw myself face first into Dragonriders of Pern and DragonLance. When I got older, I grew out of my dragon obsession.

I started reading everyone. since then I've filled my bookshelf  with every book I could get my hands on. I tend to focus in little subgenres (recently it's been urban fantasy with folks like Butcher and Briggs.) but over the years I had shelved over two hundred books. I've read Nix, Gibson, Moon, Jones, and Saberhagen. I've read good boocks, bad books and books that  I could take or leave. Books are my thing, you could say.

But  reading was never as important as writing. I love to write. I can't stop writing. I used to sit in my room, inventing stories with all of my toys. Mooch the Monkey will testify that I have sent him on many adventures with his fellow beanies.

I didn't stop creating stories. The entirety of my High School career was dedicated to writing down every thread that came into my head. And all of those are sitting in my drawer, unfinished and begging to be brought out.

And that's what I'm dedicating this blog to!!!

Writing! From now on, in between hunting for a job and doing  my school work. i will be revising and posting some of my old stories. It will help me exercise my writing brain, and maybe even entertain someone!  Next week I'll bring you a new draft of  an old creative writing assignment.

rambles, writing
