stolen from
ink_books_punk I could survive off my extra body fat for 157.5 days.
Wondering how long your extra food stores would keep you going?
Figure out how much you should weigh The subtract that amount from your actual weight (you don't have to tell anyone what that actually is) to get the amount of extra fat on your body (beyond the normal, healthy amount of fat we all need).
Multiply that number by 3500, the number of calories in a pound. The number you get might be pretty scary, but we're not done with the math yet.
Divide that by 2,000 (the average recommended daily caloric intake).
The number you have left over is the number of days that your extra fat could feed you if you didn't eat anything at all.
I could stop eating now and still be living off my body fat when next February rolled around.*
Note: don't look at this number, which is not entirely scientifically accurate, and decide that you need to stop eating until you reach your goal weight. Your body really does need to take in food, vitamins, minerals, water, and other nutrients daily in order to stay alive. This is just for fun.
