Today I had my teeth looked at for the first time in 5 years. (I had an appointment about three years ago, but I had to cancel because I had this huge cyst in my neck that had to be surgically removed, and then I got pregnant, and then I actually had a baby. Was busy.) Notice I didn't say "cleaned", because the dentist office refused to book me for a cleaning without a consultation first, after hearing that I had been so incrediably negligent. And also because they thought it was possible that I might actually need TWO cleanings to get the job done (I don't). And probably just to shame me (it worked).

Anyway, I am very lucky and have no actual cavities, just three "spots to watch". The dentist basically told me to floss more, use this special fluoride toothpaste four times a week, and cut down on sugar. In celebration, on the way home I ate half a pack of Lifesavers that I found on the front seat of my car.
