Just a few tidbits:
1. Wilco was awesome. They made me feel like I was a teenager again. Ok, that might not be so amazing, in itself, but it was still a really good show.
2. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was awful. That's the last time I let strangers at my store convince me that a movie is worth seeing. My faith in humanity has been destroyed just a little bit further.
3. Apparently I saw Alisha Silverstone at the Heartwood the other day. I say "apparently" because I didn't really get a good look at her (she came up behind me while I was looking at the hot food and said "just investigating"; she looked a little familiar, but I wasn't really paying attention). However, I have been assured, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it was her. I don't really know why I'm bothering to mention this. The food was good, as usual.
4. I finally bought a cell phone. For those of you who care to know, I'm getting a Motorola V360 on the prepaid plan from Fido (thanks for the advice, guys). I'm picking the thing up tomorrow; my phone number will be (902) 412-3519. A few ways to remember this:
a) The first five numbers are 12345, in slightly skewed order.
b) The last four numbers: 3+5+1=9
c) "519" represents my birthday (May 19th), and is in my e-mail address. "3" is, by many accounts, a "magic number" (i.e. multitudes of children choose it as their favourite, as I did).
5. Terrible wind storms (which are officially being called "microbursts"; my aunt says it was more like a tornado, complete with dark skies and a huge wall of lake water) tore up the property/trees at my grandmother's cottage (where I've gone every summer for as long as I can remember...except this one), broke her windshield and came very close to hurting some of my relatives. Global warming was already in my bad books, but messing with my Grandma is just unacceptable.
