Because I want to get to writing again, particularly my originals, and I need to get familiar with them again. (Necessary details about their stories behind the cut aha... ha. |D)

Pick three characters and have them answer the following questions accordingly. (They may be original characters or not):

❙ TO HEAR THE HEART
Michael's story, but also kinda of Michelle's as well. Her story (which is yet untitled) takes place pretty much the same time as Michael's. Considering their siblings and not estranged or anything, they keep in close contact, so there's an occasional visit from each other in their respective stories. The gist of it: Michael is a third-year college student when he runs into this random girl. It turns out she's deaf and was held in an asylum for a while despite not really being crazy or anything. As for Michelle, she was about to get married when fiancee was in a car accident. He ended up with amnesia and became an almost entirely different person from the one she knew before.

❙ EATING SWEET PEAS
I... don't really have a title for this haha. This is a temporary title from my prologue-type thing. Anyways, Ethan is this kid who can see ghosts. Mirelha is a ghost, and has been for the last 75 years or so. The details of how she died are... kinda up in the air still, but basically, it was not a peaceful one.

❙ CHARACTERS
1. Mirelha (Eating Sweet Peas)
2. Ethan (Eating Sweet Peas)
3. Michael & Michelle-I need to work on their sibling dynamic! D: (to hear the heart)

1. Number one, what was your childhood like?
Mirelha: My childhood? It was fairly average, I suppose. I had a mother, a father, and two younger siblings. I played games with my little brother and sister, and Mother always loved for me to help her cook. Father tended to be busy, but I didn’t mind so much; he was kind, and caring, and everything a father should be. I had good friends, and there was a boy who…. who I used to care for very much. Though, I guess you could say that my childhood never ended. It’s not like I’ve aged past fifteen since I’m dead.

2. Character number three, if you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be? (It can be something regarding your personal history, or something that is in the history books.)
Michael: Any time Michelle had to babysit me. I mean, honestly, she thought the word “babysitting” was synonymous with “force-feed-Michael-with-whatever-the-fuck-I-cook.”
Michelle: Excuse me, but it’s not like I’m a bad cook or anything! I know you always begged for the hotdog spaghetti I made whenever I had to cook.
Michael: Sure, it wasn’t all bad. Doesn’t mean having to eat when I was already stuffed wasn’t any less painful. In all seriousness though [insert Michelle snorting here] I would change whatever… happened to Cynthia. Whatever made her deaf. Locked inside an asylum. [concerned look at Michelle] You up for answering this, Sis?
Michelle: The day of the accident. The day I met him. The day it was raining. Any of those I just-I would take them back. Change them. Do something.

3. Number two, would you rather be immortal and eternally miserable, or live a mortal, blissfully peaceful life?
Ethan: It’s not the exact same thing, but I’ve seen what immortality does to you, even with small chances of happiness. If you knew Mirelha, you’d be smart enough to pick mortality.

4. Say, character number three, how much do you weigh?
Michael: I don’t know, and I really don’t give a fuck so long as I don’t need those little mini-scooter things to get around.
Michelle: You’re going to get diabetes one day with an attitude like that.
Michael: When I hate sweets? I doubt it.
Michelle: [sighing] As for me, I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head. My life doesn’t currently revolve around a scale.

5. Have you ever loved and lost, number one? I'll bet it was your fault, wasn't it? Tsk tsk...
Mirelha: [very strained smile here] I don’t know if I’d call my teenage infatuation “love,” but I did like someone, and I lost. My life. You can’t exactly keep a romance alive when you yourself aren’t. And I’ll have you know that it was not my fault; if it was, things would be so much easier, and I’d be resting peacefully under a gravestone by now.

6. Oh, no character two! You've just strolled into a department store to admire the lovely washing machines when a guy with a nylon stocking over his head runs in and holds the whole store at gunpoint! How will you save the day? (If you are a coward and do not wish to save the day, what do you do upon Stocking Head's arrival?)
Ethan: Sorry for the wait, your order of “COWARD” is here. Would you like ketchup with that? Ha… ha. Anyways, I wouldn’t call it cowardice so much as an interest in survival. Though if this dude didn’t have a gun, it would be a different story.

7. Number Three, tell your best "Yo Momma" joke.
Michael: Yo Momma so fuckin’ fat, she-! [sudden punch to the face]
Michelle: Don’t. Even.

8. Who is the one person you cannot live without, character number one? Why? (Please don't say Oprah, please don't say Oprah...)
Mirelha: … I can live without anyone. And I have for decades. Chances are I will forever.

9. Hey, number two, tell me one of your deepest, darkest secrets. To make you feel better, I'll tell one of mine: I don't have any deep, dark secrets.
Ethan: [wary stare at this… screen?] Can I trust this thing here? Oh, well, nothing much to lose that no one else doesn’t already know…

The reason I never go to amusement parks and playgrounds and the elementary school, anything like that, is because the ghost of a three-year-old child tried to kill me. He tried to take my body as his own. And let me tell you: if they’re young, the dead will always desire vengeance.

10. All characters: What kind of music do you listen to? Do you play any instruments? If so, which ones? (Yes...the kazoo counts. Your nose, however, does not.)
Mirelha: I used to play the cello when I was alive. I’m quite fond of the deeper tones it can create, rather than the high notes of the violin. As for current music, I’m afraid I don’t keep up much.
Ethan: Silence is my favourite track.
Michelle: I liked to listen to Anthony play the piano. He was never particularly good or anything, but it was nice all the same. Ever since the… accident though, I’ve mostly kept the keyboard covered.
Michael: I’ve never had any particular favourites, but all I can listen to is silence. Even if she can’t hear, that damn girl hates any kind of sound, even her own voice.
Michelle: [cheeky grin] But she tolerates yours, doesn’t she?
Michael: Yeah, and I have no idea why.
Ethan: Oh, I just wonder why that could be.

11. What is the most annoying thing in the world, character one?
Mirelha: Not being able to sleep. Insomniacs, you have my literal eternal sympathy.

12. Finish the statement, number three: Art is...
Michael: A waste of time.
Michelle: Nice if done right.
[ …surprisingly, neither of them have much of an opinion on art! I AM HONESTLY SURPRISED. ]

12. Finish the statement, number two: People are...
Ethan: Tolerable, but mostly annoying.
Mirelha: And of course, that’s why the girl you end up talking to most is a ghost, right?
Ethan: Shut up kindly, thank you.

13. Finish the statement, number one: Imagination...
Mirelha: Is all I have left.

14. All characters: Out of the three of you, who is the most outgoing? Reserved? Humorous? Stinky?
[ I wrote a really long and amusing conversation that I actually liked here! WHERE DID IT GO THIS ISN'T FAIR LKJASFLKS!! ]

15. Quick, Number three! Write a poem!
Michael: Roses are red / violets are blue / I don’t give two shits about poems / fuck you?
Michelle: Obviously, my little brother here is a literary genius.

16. What is your favorite word, number one?
Mirelha: Epehmeral! Or, really, any antonym of eternal.

17. Character number three, what is one weird thing that you can do? (i.e. wiggle your ears, fold your tongue, play 'amazing grace' with your armpit...)
Michelle: If you could call it a "weird thing," Michael could probably out-cuss anyone any day of the week. I still remember the time you challenged the kids from downtown… and won.
Michael: That was definitely one of my proudest moments.

18. Speak any other languages, Number Two?
Ethan: Mediocre French and Latin is the extent of my foreign language knowledge.

19. What is your nationality, character number one?
[ I never really think of characters’ ethnicity, nationalities, or religions. |D Mirelha is probably somewhere between Russian and French, but hey, she lives in America-if you’re white, you’re pretty much everything from what my friends tell me. ]

20. Pick, number two: asparagus or canned peas? Please elaborate.
Ethan: I don’t really have a preference when it comes to vegetables, no real dislikes either. I’ll take both if it means I get a free meal.

21. What scares you the most, character three?
Michelle: Anthony never really remembering me. I don’t know if I’d be able to bear it. I think that’s pretty obvious though, haha. What about you, little brother?
Michael: Me? Well… I don’t really know to be honest. It would suck shit if Anthony never remembered, and Mom or Dad or you dying would freak me the fuck out, but… I honestly can’t say.

22. All characters: What is one thing you would like the world to know about you?
Mirelha: I’m right here.
Ethan: You’re a pretty damn cruel thing, if Mirelha is any example.
Michael: I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing anymore, housing a deaf girl on the run from an asylum! If you see my name in the news, take a few guesses as to why.
Michelle: I’ve been robbed of my happiness, and I don’t think I’m getting it back.
