Day/Theme: February 8; beginning the date of tomorrow

He thinks to himself, Starting tomorrow, I’ll be brave.
And, well, he has to. He’s a Knight of Ratatosk after all, and it is now his sole duty to shield Marta from danger and harm and all other bad things. There will be monsters and adversaries now, and he can’t afford to be weak and scared, not when there’s someone to protect.
Unfortunately, however, his first impulse is still to run when they come across a monster, and staring into the mouth of some dark, sinister cave gets him weak in the knees. Ratatosk’s power does all of the work in battle, but that doesn’t mean he’s not shaking and screaming when they’re trying to escape.
But Marta is always there, laughing softly with a bright, bright smile, comforting him with, “It’s okay, really! After all, the Emil I love is the coward who will be brave just to protect me.”
And maybe that’s enough to keep him from running away.
