So, the two weeks of camp are done (thankfully!), and I'm still alive and hopeful, which I'm grateful for. The second week was very tough, but like every other year, I came home more determined than ever to help these kids have better lives. It helps me get motivated for the final paper I have to write, and reminds me of why I'm putting myself through another two years of school.
We're down to less than two months before the wedding, which is really crazy, and we're getting RSVPs and notes, which are really nice to get. I love hearing from people, and I'm excited to be married, but I have to say that it will be nice to have my life back to do the things I'd like to do with it. Can't wait to start painting again! :D
So, I'm going to keep this short, but I think my thought for the day will be that one of the most amazing experiences in the world is to watch someone who has been shut down and marked as a loser by everyone else go farther than anyone imagined in their wildest dreams that they could. And this was a child. Never discount yourself, and never discount others. Everyone is capable of far more than they let on, and when the truth comes out, it's wonderful.
