Wind's End
Emily, Max, Paul... I don't think any of you are still on LJ, and I'm not sure if any of you remember the old Werewolf game, but just in case, I thought you might like to see the 6th anniversary gift I got for Michael and myself.
Michael is out of town right now, but when he comes back, I hope he freaks out over this as much as I did. Brogan and Tristan are two characters that are forever etched into my mind, and memorializing them like this seemed like such a wonderful expression of pure nerd love. Thankfully one of the awesome artists I've met during the course of my days on Ragnarok Online (Jill Secord aka Remichan) was happy to oblige me with a commission. She's done drawings of my RO characters before, but I feel like she really outdid herself on this one. She knows that my favorite pieces of hers are the ones where she overlays semi-transparent colors on sketches, and the ones where she experiments with textures. Not only did she do both, she also took every bit of info I gave her to heart. I really love the duality it has going; in their human forms you can see Brogan's cunning and strength, and Tristan's self-doubt and emotional fragility. Yet in their wolf forms, you can see Brogan's regret and shame, and Tristan's compassion and tenacity. Their good and bad qualities show through so well.
So, its now in a high-quality 11 x 14 print, that's in a frame, sitting on our couch. I can't wait until he gets home to see it.
In other news... I'm sort of lonely. Note to self; stop ignoring people on MSN.
