Pearl Pentacle and the Tree of Life...
Last night, when I was walking in the snow again, I started thinking about the Pearl Pentacle and how it relates to the Tree of Life. Law, Knowledge, and Wisdom are easy to place. Love and Liberty are a little harder.
Love can be seen either as Chesed, Mercy, which is also Loving Kindness, as Tipherah, which is both Beauty and Love, or as Kether, the Crown, the pinnacle of the Tree. I was going to place it as Chesed, but decided I prefer to place it as Kether.
Wisdom is obviously Chokmah, Wisdom.
Liberty, which is also Power, can be Chesed, Tipherah, or Kether, just as Love can. At first I was going to place it as Tipherah, the balance between all Sephiroth, but I decided I liked it as Chesed, which is infinite giving. Sounds like Liberty to me.
Knowledge could be Da'ath, Knowning, but it's having knowledge of the world around you, which is really Binah, Understanding.
Law is obviously about restriction, withholding when necessary. It is Geburah, Judgement.
This website uses a very different arrangement. Love, Wisdom, and Knowledge are where I put them, but Law and Liberty are switched. Odd. They place the Iron Pentacle as Sex as Tipherah, Passion as Hod, Power as Malkuth, Self as Netzach, and Pride as Yesod. I would lay these out very different. If I placed the points of the Iron Pentacle on the Tree as Sepharoth, I would put Sex as Yesod, Passion as Netzach, the base of the Pillar of Fire, Power as Hod, the base of the Pillar of Water, Self as Malkuth, and Pride as Tipherah.
