Yep, I know it was concern, not an accusation. And I appreciate it. Honestly, if I had been offended, I would have either ignored it or deleted it. But I'm not easily offended.
I'm not sure which of the two passages I quoted from Cora you're referring to, since you seem to only be referring to one, the descriptions of gnomes our of Fifty Years or the fairy experience out of Childhood Memories. The way the pictures and block quotes line up, it looks almost like they are one quote and include my comments between.
If you're referring to the one from Childhood Memories, I quoted it from a LiveJournal post on a community, the one the link on the title refers to. I'm not sure of the original context in the book, since I don't own it yet. I probably could have, and in retrospect, should have, just quoted the first paragraph.
But I think you're referring to the description of gnomes out of Fifty Years. There's really no such thing as an "entire article" in the book, since it has no chapters or divisions. Each idea flows dynamically and organically into the next. That part that that quote came from is part of the last part of a discussion on Astral travel. She goes from a discussion of Astral states and the words used for them by gypsies and the words those came from in Sanskrit into a discussion of various fairy beings, to give an example of the Astral states these beings have. First she talks about earth beings, gnomes, the most solid, then water, then air, then fire. If I was going to define a "complete essay", it would have to either be the complete discussion of the Astral, which is about a third of the book, or the complete discussion of the four elements. Just the part about gnomes isn't the complete thought, nor does it stand alone in the book. I only quoted the section of the passage relating to what I was writing about, and any smaller sections wouldn't have made any sense without the connecting parts. It wasn't even multiple paragraphs, but only one. I quoted the part I needed to quote to be able to give the commentary on it I was writing and to be able to relate it to the movie, the quote from Wikipedia, and the books from my childhood.
