Another name for Shekhinah is Kavod (כָּבוֹד) meaning Glory. The Shekhinah is the Glory of G-d. Kavod comes from the root כָּבַד, pronounced the same way, meaning to be heavy. The Glory of G-d is a heaviness, G-d's Glory settling on the earth, thick. This is the Skekhinah. Kavod also means honour and abundance. The Shekhinah is G-d's abundance poured out.
