While the Huffington Post is not exactly the AMA Journal, and a self-selecting survey run on-line isn't the most statistically rigourous, this article discusses two interesting results of such a survey run by Cookie magazine and AOL Body targeting solely women who were married with children ( Read more... )

Sounds like a logical result of people deciding to get married or staying together just because of kids. If there was better education about that sort of thing, the effects of a child on a relationship etc there would be a lot less whoring going on. If teenage girls were shown all the grotesque possibilities a pregnancy can have on a womens body I'm sure there would be a lot more use of the word "no". Also if people had a more logical and rational approach to the choosing of their partners and the creation of a child it would all work out MUCH better. I wonder hwo many lives were utterly ruined because one person in a couple didn't like the idea of abortion. That's another way religion and political lcorrectness has screwed the world.

While I do understand an innate human instinct to breed I absolutely cannot fathom why peopel still do it today. We no longer need virtual slaves to work the farmland, we no longer need large flocks of children to guarantee 2 or 3 don't die of disease and warefare is much different now so we don't actually need that many men to rush to our borders or another ocuntries to stab another man.

If it was up to me everyone who wanted a child woudl have to be rigourously educated, interviewed, screened, financially and mentally assessed and only the successful would be issued a license to conceive. Just because we can doesn't mean we have to. I can easily take another persons life and you KNOW I'm tempted every fucking day but just because I "can" doesn't mean I should. Why should the creation of life be an unchecked, permitted act of randomness while the destruction of one is so severely punished and scrutinised.

Proper consideration and rational thought would have prevented hundreds of thousand sof crimes and criminals. How many people murdered someone because they had a shitty homelife as a child, it's all contributory to the final result.

I would love to see a planet level plague or disater knock out 75% of the population, but leave the technology in place so we can move forwards instead of round and round in circles. Fuck if we spent half the total money spent on researching toothbrushes, disposable razors and feminine hygiene products, on scientific research we could all be living in environmentally balanced houses... on the MOON!!!

Humans are a flawed and dangerous species.

Ah, a whole lot of teenage girls get shown pregnancy etc stuff like that. It's kinda like watching a drunk driving or speeding warning add on TV.

"It won't happen to me-e!"
