I have been told that I am slacking in the LJ posting department by
seraphs_folly. But that's what happens when you spend much of your time actually working for a change, and the rest of it hanging out with one's partner.
Been re-watching
X with said partner. It's better than I remembered it, and stands up well to newer series, IMO, though the structuring of the episodes is pretty damn blatant.
Had extreme pain from shoulder for most of yesterday. Probably due to sleeping funny or stress. Also felt like I might have had a bit of flu. Sniffles. Aching joints. Itchy eyes. Feeling better today, all drugged up.
Odd dreams last night, living in a house that extended down from a street, several storeys into a valley. For some reason couldn't get to the bottom of it without swinging over the roofs and trees. Got stuck with my partner as she insisted on moving out onto a tree limb behind me, despite my warnings about the structural integrity of the branch I was standing on. Danger as we dangled over large drop, but ended up dropping only a short distance to the roof of another part of the building.
We were hurrying because
wasup_bro and
panda_pitt had already descended and had entered a grating that lead to an underworld that reminded me of something like Heretic. We discussed whether it was better to go after them, running the risk of them mistaking us for enemies and blowing us away, and vice versa, or leaving them to clear the place themselves, which had the possible risk of the not being able to handle all the monsters by themselves. In the end we decided we'd be more of a liability and didn't follow them down.
Spent time clearing out stuff previous owner had left behind in the large number of odd cupboards and other nooks and crannies. Found a mint condition nerf launcher toy that we considered was probably collectable
Figured out a covered walkway behind a hidden door could have got us there instead of the trees when we looked back up the hill.
Went back to the road and had discussions with the Westies living next door. They had only a house at the bottom of the hill and a gravel drive all the way up which they liked racing their Holdens up. They shared a beer with us and said we could use their driveway to get to the bottom of the house and wished us luck with it.
Looking forward to seeing people tonight at
kittyfarmer's celebration and Syn, need to drop
seraphs_folly off to the airport tomorrow morning so will actual be missing part of
KapCon! That'll be a bit of a first for me, at least in the last seven years or so!
