That was the weekend that was.
So life get in the way of blogging yet again. What a bastard that is, eh? :)
Friday
Had a birthday dinner at KFC with Ben and Luke, at Ben's request. I got pressies, some Kiwifruit Whittiker's chocolate chosen by Ben, and a dvd containing Human League's greatest hits! Certainly a retro-classic, intended to play it at the party for amusement value, but forgot.
When we returned from KFC Luke had to go off to band practice, but Ben & I watched the Episode III dvd with the commentary track on. Was quite interesting listening to the people's comments, especially George Lucas'.

Satyrday
Spent the morning and most of the afternoon preparing for the party, including a shopping trip into Upper Hutt. I bought more cheap manchester from Farmers, random things from The Warehouse, including a set of 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets for just $88, and a nice little iron & red glass tea-lite holder which along with the incense fitted nicely into the alcove in the lounge. Then I picked up some more booze and finally I dropped into Coupland's for some savouries. Coupland's is a tempting place lots of lovely baked things at really cheap prices. I got several packets of their lovely gingernuts at 89c a packet, and also picked up some pita for a trial.
Was doing the last of a long list of things I was trying to get done, putting all the paper recycling n a bag so it wasn;t cluttering up the kitchen (I'm considering a "no-circulars" sign for the letter box, all of it just gets transferred to the recycler these days, why do they bother?) when panda_pitt arrived back with a number of people from the game.
I ordered in some Hell, and many people were hypnotized by the TV, firstly by the wonder dogs show which was frighteningly inane,and then by a GVH of Blondie.
More people arrived with their own pizza, and the pizza boxes began to resemble an architectural construction.
Later in the evening eyes_of_winter drove me down to the station to pick up xenogram and vizi who happened to be on the same train. mashugenah had gone with us reportedly so I wouldn't be alone with eyes_of_winter, so the car was nicely full..
superlate and giffydoll brought sake. and a wast cincher for trying on. There are photos! jarratt_gray & evie_fae arrived at the same time, naughtily giving me presents, consisting of two Range Muratta figures, one a cat girl and the other a skirted girl with a cat on her shoulders. It's obvious they know my weaknesses! Evie also wore her famous PVC dress , which was another birthday present of sorts :) Thanks, guys!
adrexia delivered a Glenlivet, and proceeded to demolish the Bruichladich. mashugenah fell down as usual. As did margrave_yuri. More than once, even.
Late in the evening adrexia and I sang through the Dylan album Blood on the Tracks and some Floyd, before she retired to the spare room in which mashugenah and rincewindtvd were already ensconced sometime after 4.00 am.
Sunday
Was a late rising. Breakfast of cold pizza and coffee for some, and a couple of hours lazing around drinking coffee and talking mainly about RPGs until it was time to leave for superlate's new game, which was great fun, but I'm not allowed to talk about it. :)
Looking forward to the next session though!
While I was away panda_pitt did all those dishes! Thanks for that!
Back home feeling utterly wasted. Couldn't even concentrate enough to string together an email. Went to bed early, but still ended up chatting till after midnight!
