another week has flown by!
i've been busy at my internship...................................GOTCHA! its been the usual, except my boss did give me stuff to type into excel but that only lasted for a day. i spent the rest of my week there searching the internet like always and then i gave in and started playing games, hey it makes the time go by faster! I managed to work 25 hours this week too since i am tryingto save money for my vegas trip! i do have to get my powerpoint ready for my presentation to the managers for august 16th. o this is good, i think it was tuesday, when one of the human resource ladies asked all the interns to send her a few sentences of their experience at the internship...i was like are you freaking kidding me?! i didnt send her crap, because if i idid it wouldnt have been nice, and i sure as heck wasnt going to sugar coat anything either. i was kinda ticked off that one of the other interns who has become my friend there wrote something in because i know shes been having a horrible experience there, but then again she is doing this internship for credit, so i guess you have to sugar coat things sometimes.
i was also getting discouraged because i was on big name company website this past week, (pepsi, starbucks, p&g) and they do summer internships for both undergrad and mba students. so i looked up information on how to apply and when. the part that was discouraging is that they only really do "recruiting" at big name schools like harvard, yale, penn state, univ of pa. so its like i dont even have a chance. i known i didnt go to a big name school, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt work as hard as the ivy leaguers. w/e ill still apply for them anyway and show them all! so ya i was swimming in my pity when i went to check my college e-mail and what do you know there was an email from a lady with an internship opportunity for the fall....i was like rrriiiggghhttt its probably something stupid. so i clicked to see what its about and it looks like something i would enjoy. its kinda more of a public relations thing though since they want you to help write some media stuff. i'm kinda screwed there because my grammar is hhhoorrriibbbllleeee. so we kept emailing each other back and forth and set up an interview for tuesday morning. she wants me to bring in samples of my projects....er.....i know this is stupid of me but i dont really save my past stuff, and ive never really done projects for any of my classes..its always been papers. o well im going to bring in my market study that i did, and maybe some of my essays. i'll have to browse through my computer and see if i i have anything.
so this weekend is going to be bborrrinnnggg blanton works 10-4 today and is going to a pow wow tomorrow. he asked me if i wanted to go but im not going to an outdoor event in 95 degree heat......where the only bathroom you have is a port a potty. if the weather was cooler i wouldnt have mind going...
