Jen just showed me this from her Social Psych book and I couldn't resist!
According to children aged 4 - 8:
Love is that first feeling you feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way.
Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.
Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he looks like Robert Redfort.
Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your french fries without making them give you any of theirs.
Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.
According to college undergrads:
Love is like an elevator; you can ride it to the top or end up in the basement, but eventually you'll choose which floor to get off.
Love, especially unrequited love, is good, like Baklava; it's very sweet and tasty today, but usually tomorrow.
Love is when you look at your partner when they first wake up and still think that they are beautiful.
Love is offering the last bite.
Love is when I want to be naked in front of you.
I want to be a kid more than ever.
Also: our era is apparantley the "hook-up" age. Dating is a dying breed in college. It's perfectly normal and very common for people to go 4-years in college w/out having a relationship or dates. So while for the first time I may be amongst the "normal" people in not dating/having a relationship, it's still sad :(
Maybe I should have tried harder in HS?
