Last Saturday was spent out in the country getting loads of fresh air and watching nerds in costumes with pointy sticks. :D It was pretty fun. The blackmail photos are here:
http://good-times.webshots.com/album/574403223rOHPIv No TVs to be had, naturally, nor cable for that matter, so I had to watch the Travers on racereplays.com that evening. (That's where I have to watch all my races these days, sniffle.) Summer Bird established himself as one of the top 3 YO colts in the country if not *the* top colt with his win in the mud at Saratoga. I wish Mine That Bird had been able to run though. I suspect he would have winged his way across that slop just as easily as his "brother" and really made a race of it. That said, SB showed his heels to very nice colts like Kensei and Quality Road (who had some issues, both mental and traffic).
How amazing does that make Rachel Alexandra look now? Even more amazing I should say. She absolutely clobbered Summer Bird in the Haskell. I can hardly wait for Saturday to see her try the older males, something that is practically unheard of for a three year-old filly.

He needs to put on his big boy panties and realize that the synthetics did not beat Curlin. The horse himself just wasn't as good at 4 as at 3 and was beaten by superior horses. Suck it already. I want to see Rachel win the BC Classic, damn it.
