You Never Forget Your First

It's been about three weeks since I moved back from college.  I am apparently unable to get a job.  I still have to move all of my college stuff into my room, so I've been spending my days cleaning out the dresser and the closet (I'll tackle the bookcase next).  Today I pulled out my Mummy Box to sort through it and add some stray odds and ends.  There was a lot of stuff in there.

Back when the show (The Mummy: The Animated Series) was still on (well, not on, but not-yet-canceled), I started writing and thinking and just generally creating.  What started out as fanfiction became this epic series of adventures based on the show, but expanded.  I had 13 season with 13 episodes each planned out.  That's a lot of free time I had back in the day.

Anyway, all of that paper (and boy, was there a lot of paper!) wasn't even the majority of it.  There was the unofficial stuff (rip-off DVDs and recorded VHS tape episodes, old art projects, jewelry), as well as the official stuff.  I've got quite the collection here, and I took pics of the "official" stuff in case anyone is interested.

The collection all spread out on my floor.

Another shot of the whole thing.

The most recent additions to the Box: Officially released Region 1 DVDs.  You don't even wanna know what kind of noises I made when i stumbled into these things in Wal-Mart a couple of years back.  I thought I was dreaming!

The first VHS/DVD released.  Only four episodes.  A scattering of special features.  If anyone knows where I can find a download of The Mummy Top Toons Tune, though, I'll be forever grateful.

DVDs of a scattering of episodes.  These are from Australia.  I used to have a thing that would get them to play on the PS2.

My parents actually tracked down a book for small children/ESL students as a birthday gift!

"I am Imhotep.  I am going to live again.  I am going to find the famous Scrolls of Thebes and the Manacle of Osiris.  Those writings and that bracelet can make me very strong.  My new friend Colin Weasler can help me.  Weasler is scared of me and that's good!"

GameBoy Advance game and a Mummy themed Monster truck.  I'm still not entirely sure how I even found the second one.

Cupcake decorations.  They made my Sweet Sixteen even better!

Taco Bell Toys!  The Manacle of Osiris.  If you push the button, it projects a red scorpion onto the wall.  Please ignore my grotesquely hairy arm :)

Rick!  He used to live under my pillow!

Alex and his mongoose.  No, that's not innuendo, even if the kid did check his pants for the weasel on occasion.

This is Evy.  If you pull her away from the weird brown thing, she gets pulled back up.  I'm not sure what the point of this toy is.

It's a pyramid puzzle!

It is very hard to put together, as it only has five pieces.

Toys from Scotland!  I'm not sure why I have two mummies.  I think I found the one by itself before the whole set went on eBay.  *shrugs*

Ardeth Bay!  According to my friend, he had a large desert garden, complete with a red, ripe potato (some people should never go without sleep, kay?)

Evy (who was a total bitch to photograph)!

Alex and his pant-mongoose, Tut!

And here's the centerpiece of my little collection: Rick O'Connell.  Why is he so special (beside the fact that he's made of awesome, allergic to mongooses mongeese the furry rodent in his son's pants, and is my favorite character ever)?

I totally got the thing signed by the voice actor (John Schneider) at DukesFest a couple of years ago.  Dude was shocked.  Shocked.  Probably because the show had been canceled five years before.  Bo Duke thinks I'm a freak.  I can live with that.

So, that's my bit of spam for the night.  Be thankful I didn't snap pics of my Supernatural Drawer, because that was bitch to clean out, too.  And if you're wondering why I'm posting this, it probably has something to do with the combination of this migraine, job-hunt stress, and the fact that it's 3:30 in the morning.  Yay, summer!

cw, don't mock my world turtle!, i don't even know, i can haz job?, ramblings, real life, forgiveness is screaming then silence, whiskey tango foxtrot marksha!, tmtas
