Some thoughts on Satan
“I have to do this, Sam. I have to.”
I’ve been toying with the idea this season of Lucifer having a redemption arc like Sam and (to a lesser extent) Dean. It seems impossible, I know, but this line caught my attention and wouldn’t let go.
Could it be possible that Lucifer is going through with the Apocalypse simply because it was predicted? Predestined?
I don’t doubt that he hates humanity, but that line made it seem almost like he was raising Death due to some sick sense of duty more than personal desire. Think about it: there are thousands of millions of demons and fallen angels (well, I assume it’s a large number, at least) in Hell and on Earth, and they know their daddy’s out of the box. They’re expecting something. Does Luci have the juice to take them down himself? Not without Sam.
